Asia Sandifer is an arts advocate based in California and
serving youth through the arts across the country.

“I am an active art explorer.  I am passionate about animation and films. I love to travel and learn about the different cultures around the world and I came from a very artsy-fartsy family, my heart lies with being a cartoonist, animator, and artistic director.

Asia is an artist because…

Animation carries the hearts of each creator. Animation is an adventure when watching she believes that it doesn’t matter whether it is 5 min or 5 hours everyone remembers a favorite character they watched as a child, and even into adulthood that they can relate to and give them a good memory and a good laugh.

Who Inspired Asia?

“I have a mother who is a dancer and a father who is an artist so it kinda runs in me to love it but I developed my passion around the time I turned nine I was a weird kid who love to have fun and I had so many ideas I wanted to share and the best way to communicate for me was to draw my voice in images and cartoons”

“I was inspired by Warner Brothers, particularly the Looney Toons series by Leon Schlesinger and animators Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising. Shortly after I discovered Walt Disney’s biggest star Mickey Mouse in Steamboat Willie, this cartoon spoke my language even though there were few words. Then my world was changed when Nickelodeon's Spongebob Squarepants series launched it was humor creative and fresh and is still my favorite cartoon to this day“

“Of course as mentioned before I am an adventurer and that includes my TV and thus in elementary school I discovered the empire of anime, which introduced new languages, drama, artistic expression, and style. It was an instant hook into a new world that fit perfectly into what was already a cartoon-inspired lifestyle.”
